International Representation

Representation written market by market.

Salsamani represents clients outside their home market and manages the relationships that come with it. The representation is defined by a written brief, so both sides know what it covers, what it does not, and how progress will be reported.

What the brief defines

Eight points, agreed before work starts.

Jockey saluting after a Group One win on turf
Objective
What the representation is for: a sale, a race entry, a partnership, a presence, information, or a decision.
Home market
Where you are based and where your decisions are taken.
Target market
The country or market where you need to be represented.
Required role
What Salsamani does there: liaison, attendance, coordination, negotiation within set limits, reporting, or a combination.
Timeframe
The period of the representation: a single event, a season, or an ongoing arrangement with review points.
Responsibilities
What Salsamani is responsible for, what stays with you, and the decision authority delegated for the assignment.
Deliverables
What you receive during and at the end of the assignment: the arrangements made on your behalf, written reports at agreed intervals, and a close-out note recording contacts, commitments and open items.
Success criteria
How completion is judged, agreed in advance: the result that shows the objective has been met or, where the result depends on others, evidence that the agreed role was carried out in full.

From the brief, Salsamani sets out scope, fees and reporting against the agreed deliverables and success criteria. Where an activity requires a licence, registration or local authorisation, the brief identifies it and how it will be met. Work starts once the terms are agreed.

The evidence rule

Salsamani coordinates administrative evidence and completion status. Appointed specialists, such as the client's trainer, veterinarian, customs broker or counsel, provide technical or regulatory sign-off. An item is recorded as received, submitted or closed only when the evidence supports it; a submission receipt is not an approval.

External approvals and racing outcomes are not deliverables within Salsamani's control. A documented decision not to proceed is a valid outcome of discovery.

Two hypothetical enquiries

What a complete brief looks like.

The examples below are illustrative. They are not client accounts.

Hypothetical enquiry 1

A US racing stable considering participation in Saudi horse racing

Salsamani can turn a US stable's Saudi racing objective into one controlled plan for documents, logistics, budget and responsibilities. The stable retains the key decisions, appointed specialists provide technical sign-off, and progress stays visible from feasibility through close-out, without promises of entries, permits or racing results.

Objective
To take identified US-trained racehorses through feasibility, preparation, movement and close-out for specified Saudi races, with the decision to proceed taken only once the requirements are known.
Home market
United States.
Target market
Saudi Arabia.
Required role
Administrative coordination and evidence tracking. Liaison with racing bodies and racecourse contacts; a register of the entry, import, quarantine, customs and personnel requirements, each confirmed by the responsible specialist; coordination with the stable's shipping agent and veterinary team; presence on the ground from arrival through the meeting; a daily report while the horse is in the country.
Timeframe
From first enquiry to the horse's departure after the meeting, with a commitment gate before any entry, shipment or non-refundable booking.
Responsibilities
Salsamani coordinates, tracks evidence and reports, and may commit only listed administrative expenses within approved caps. The stable keeps every decision about the horse and its participation, signs its own entries and contracts, and continues to use its own trainer, veterinarians, shipper and broker, who give the technical sign-off.
Deliverables
A charter and responsibility matrix; a regulatory-pathway and evidence register; a horse and racing administration dossier; a critical path, logistics plan and budget; a commitment-gate pack before any entry or shipment; an execution and close-out pack.
Success criteria
The stable takes a dated go or no-go decision with full information before any non-refundable commitment; if it proceeds, every arrangement within Salsamani's role is evidenced before it is needed. Entries, permits and results are not promised, and a documented decision not to proceed is a complete outcome.
Hypothetical enquiry 2

A Hong Kong-based client considering US racehorse purchases, training or racing

Salsamani can give a Hong Kong owner one clear coordination plan for US racehorse purchases, training and racing, keeping inspections, authority, budgets and logistics visible while specialists handle technical sign-off. The client retains the purchase and racing decisions; external approvals and results remain conditional.

Objective
To buy two racehorses at a US bloodstock sale and place them in training in the United States, with the related settlement, movement and close-out coordinated in one plan.
Home market
Hong Kong.
Target market
United States.
Required role
Coordination at the sale and in the weeks after it. Inspection coordination with the client's chosen advisers; tracking of sale credit and agent authorisation; bidding only under a separately agreed bidding authority, with per-lot caps and an aggregate ceiling; post-sale administration; introductions to trainers shortlisted with the client; reporting until the horses are settled in training.
Timeframe
From sale preparation through the sale and the first month in training.
Responsibilities
Salsamani coordinates the administration and reports at each stage. Selection, veterinary suitability, legal and customs conclusions stay with the client's appointed specialists. The client keeps final selection, budget, choice of trainer and payment to the sale company, and never exceeds a cap without giving a new instruction.
Deliverables
An objective and authority charter; a purchase and due-diligence file for each shortlisted lot; a credit and bid-authority file; a training and racing set-up file; a horse-movement file where needed; a budget and close-out pack.
Success criteria
Any bid placed only under written authority and within its caps; each purchase delivered to the chosen trainer with paperwork complete; every decision referred to the client with the information needed to take it. A documented decision not to bid or buy is a complete outcome.

Both enquiries above are written examples showing how a brief is structured. They are not completed engagements, they do not describe past or current clients, and they do not confirm coverage in any country.
